Resi(st/d)encias

Resi(st/d)encias is a programme of artistic production directed and run entirely by artists. Over two weeks, painters of the figurative avant-garde live together in a shared space that works as an intensive workshop and residency.

Across nine editions we have found that creating a common space outside the studio encourages the exchange of ideas in a craft as solitary as the painter's. Painting matters as much as talking about painting. The more veteran painters guide the emerging ones; the younger bring a fresh eye. From that crossing a generational exchange is born.
